Walked past this place a few times and decided to give it a chance as I thought it’s pretty empty most of the times. Turned out that the food is not worth the bucks.
Very friendly service with thick chunk slices of sashimi, delicious food especially on point tempura. Love the sashimi and not expensive. Abit squeeze for a family, more recommended for couples due to lack of space.
Very bad restaurant which charges service charge for takeaway? Emm with this level of service… the food is not authentic too and not worth the price. There are better Japanese restaurants just down the road!
Very satisfying meal last evening. There is a choice of outdoor or air-con indoor seat. We chose the indoor. Food was great with good service. Generous share of sea urchin at only about $27. Will be back.
The food here had an authentic taste that transported us back to Japan. We tasted freshness and quality in the 5-kind sashimi, a tasty burst of umami in the udon soup, a creamy crab croquette that was not too rich, and crispy vegetable tempura that was not too oily. The ice cream mochi was like heaven for the tastebuds for those who love chewy textures that also melt in the mouth. Just a little note to self to avoid the zaru soba as it was not served with a proper drainer and was on the soggy side.
It lives up to their name! They sell really good sashimi. Comes with generous portions of pickled ginger and wasabi. Overall the food is really good, definitely worth the price we paid for.Their hot Sake comes in a bucket of hot water to keep it warm! So you can slowly enjoy your food and still have your Sake warm!
I have been wanting to come here for some time but I never managed to for one reason or another. So when I finally managed to, it was because of some impromptu last minute decision. The place was packed on a Friday night and streams of people kept on coming in. It was difficult to get a place unless you come in earlier.I must say that the menu is pretty comprehensive and prices are reasonable. However the food quality was above average but not fantastic, not at the level that will draw one back regularly especially given the number of Japanese F&B establishments in the area.Restaurant is pretty small and it can get very noisy and crowded.
The restaurant is located in the first floor of The Flow. A newly built building along East Coast Road.Parking is relatively easy, the most convenient is to park in the hotel beside it.Reservation is encourage especially during weekends. It will get quite crowded. The food is fresh. We ordered a Hobo fish and we have it prepared in half sashimi and half fried. It was good. The rest of the food were tasty and good as well. The place is clean with a mazinine floor which make the whole place interesting. Staff were polite and helpful.Highly recommended!!!!
Like others said, this is a hidden gem. Really fresh sashimi and impressive oyster. The mentaiko salmon maki roll and the chicken wing skewer were delicious as well. Good service - dishes were served fairly quick after placing the order. I would like to visit again if I am in Katong area again.
Love the sashimi here, it's pretty fresh. The sukiyaki don was really yummy (no pictures on that cos we were so hungry 😅)Also glad they have Swordfish sashimi available. The food is decent, with great lunch set prices. The menu is extensive, and generally affordable. This time we didn't get to try as much as we wanted but will be back for more!++The service was friendly and welcoming.
Wow.. it was tucked amongst a roll of restaurants almost out of sight. Happened by here and thought "Why not?". Food was FRESH and tasty! Totally love the ambience and don't expect slow traditional Japanese music. The music here ROCKS.. I don't know what genre it is but it was fast tempo but not absurdly loud Japanese pop. Love it!
Affordable and delicious Japanese food! Highly recommend the Hotate Mentaiyaki 😍 Sashimi was really big portion and fresh as well - if you’re coming on weekdays, there is 50% for a certain type of fish daily! 🙂
