Bak kut teh is slightly too salty and ma you ji taste wasn’t strong enoughOverall food is not badBut the heat in the shop is unbearable I was perspiring the whole time and it’s 630pm when I enteredBecause of the heat I don’t think I’ll come back again
22nd sep 24, reviewed 2 years ago and went back recently.. the taste is still as good and innards soup and dishes. Super filling and I believe it’s Hokkien style then malaysia ! Will recommend!Very decent malaysia style BKT! Soup is tasty and not overwhelming.. the only shortfall is the Lor chap is too plain. And the portion serve is quite small for the price. Total damage at 35.. I feel is quite exp for portion.. still will recommend!
This is a bak kottaya restaurant that serves meat in a clay pot.It is located along Joo Chiat Road in Katong district. It is within walking distance from the local bus stop. This bak kut tea is a black soup, similar to Chinese herbal soup. The special and regular prices are the same, but I recommend the special with lots of ingredients. My friend recommended taro rice and fried bread (youtiao), so I ordered them together and it was a great decision! The fried bread soaking up the soup is delicious! And taro rice goes well with bak kut tea and is delicious! It's always hot in Singapore, so bak kut tea, which has a strong salty taste and gives you stamina, seemed like the perfect choice.I also drank sour plum juice, which was also delicious. It was a lunch that wiped away all my fatigue! The restrooms are also clean and the staff are friendly. You can also process credit card payments, which is very convenient. The restaurant is large, so you can have a relaxing meal.
It has been a while since my last review and the urge of writing a review for restaurant.Old school atmosphere, as if like you are somewhere in Malaysia, clean and old school toilet as well.Food Menus are all on the wall and feel like ordering all of them tonight but we only have 2 pax. Lol.Personal favorite is the Claypot Vermicelli Prawn. They have 4 big and fresh prawns with shaoxing wine.Definitely will come back again for the rest on the menu.Thank you!
Served in claypot with nice old school vibes. Soup was nice, meat was not as much as expected but good and comes off the bone easily. Herbal soup can be stronger
I really enjoyed dining here.Tucked along the many fancy/modern dining options along Joo Chiat, this establishment offers authentic claypot bkt coupled with a rustic charm. It was my first time dining here, and I wished I had took the time to look through the menu more thoroughly. The bkt I ordered was the one with only pork ribs. On hindsight, I should have ordered the one with a variety of ingredients.Price is reasonable.Food is tasty.Service is prompt.
Overall food is good. Pork rib is fresh not frozen. 2 types of soup selection. Suggest not to order herbal type as it's a bit salty to me. Youtiao 油条 think is double fried to make it more crispy. Too oily and Suggest using a toaster instead. More other dish available. Will come back again when craving for bahkutteh
While this place is supposed to be famous for their BKT, I dont think it is to die for. However, I am a frequent customer here for their 2 dishes which should be the real stars and must-try.The sesame chicken and the tang hoon with prawn. The chicken is fragrant and the gravy/sauce has an intense flavor. They only use the wing/mid-wing portions so you will not find any dry pieces of meat. The tanghoon is cooked with prawns ($25 for large), and egg and the soup has that nice prawn flavor which is totally different from their bkt. The prawns are a mix of larger and small ones, so dont expect them to be all big.For 2 pax, we would usually order 1 sesame chicken each and a large sized tanghoon with a bowl of rice to share.
Excellent Indian food served by a steadfast North Indian restaurant tucked away at the side of an unassuming shopping mall.Must try dishes: Chicken Hariyalti Tikka, Prawn Briyani, and Holy Butter Chicken. The Holy Butter Chicken pairs harmoniously with their cheese naan, allowing both dishes to express the best of themselves both separately and together. They were short staffed when we visited, but the one and only service staff juggled multiple tables and guest enquiries like an Olympic Gold Medal ballerina. Will definitely be back again for more!
I am glad that we chose this place for a meal and chillout on a Saturday evening. The place has an interesting cosmopolitan modern Japanese vibe with the neon lights. The food was delicious using quality ingredients and the recommended sake really paired well with the various dishes. We took the liberty to give a little feedback that we preferred the tonkatsu batter to be more crispy and the staff took in the feedback and discussed with the kitchen crew. Really delighted by the attitude, attentiveness and friendliness of the staff. A satisfying meal and experience.
Bak Kut Teh (SGD $12.50) @ Sin Heng Claypot Bak Koot Teh..Since 1983, this stall has been serving a herbal bak kut teh version that will appeal to those who prefer a lighter taste..Their soup carries a pleasant medium strength of body, kept warm in the earthenware claypot. Has mild herbal sweet savoury flavour..The smallest version has crisp lettuce with vegetal sweet flavour, large juicy button mushrooms with vegetal earthy herbal flavour, and decently tender pork ribs with meaty sweet savoury flavour..The pickled salted mustard greens are juicy with a mild vegetal salty sweet flavour, and the requisite fluffy white rice is nicely grainy sweet in taste..Part of their appeal here is the range of zi char dishes on the menu, making for a unique pairing with their BKT.
Great place for a good claypot BKT. The vegetables got wok hey, prices are very reasonable for portion given. Most are on the saltier side, but Depends on your own preferences.Their opening hours are good for even supper. Parking will be abit hard as there are limited parking around. The place allows for 5 pax dine in, great to go with friends and family. They will take your order while queuing, and once you get your seats, your orders will get served quite quickly.
