I was sceptical of trying this place but was very pleasantly surprised! Both the jerk and curry goat were very good, authentic flavours and generous portions. Plantain was cooked well and great scotch bonnet hot sauce too. I will come back!
The staff here are so helpful! The jerk chicken rice and peas were delicious, and the sides were spot on. Loved the nice ambiance with Afro beats playing in the background. Great vibes, highly recommend!
Came across this hidden gem and was sceptical. Although I am Australian born, my father is West Indian and my family background is West Indian, specifically Barbadian. After trying the Jerk Chicken, Stewed Beef with rice and peas as well as fried plantains, I have to say that this is the closest I have had to true West Indian food outside of the Carribbean. This food lifted my soul!
I had heard about this place and decided to give it a try. Jamaican food in Bangkok?! Why not? When I arrived it’s an open air venue with plenty of fans blowing to keep some breeze in the place.I sat down at the counter and started conversing with Andrew the proprietor. A friendly gentleman who takes his Jamaican cooking seriously wanting to deliver an authentic dish. He did not disappoint. I’ve been to Portland multiple times and experienced “yard style” living and food and Andrew’s food brought me back to Jamaica!Big up to Frying Pan Jerk Grill! Likamore Andrew!
Great taste of home being so far away. The staff and owner make sure you are set up proper Great food, drinks, and music to suit everyone. On my list of regular places whenever I visit.
First time trying out Jamaican food. Ordered the jerk chicken. A whole chicken thigh + rice with kidney beans + coleslaw. Chicken is tender & nice flavour. Love the rice as well. But for the coleslaw, too much mayonnaise in it. Also ordered the jerk chicken wings. It's the same except that it's fried & no side dishes. Overall, alright.
I learned about this restaurant from a friend that lives in Bangkok. On a trip to Bangkok, I ate at the restaurant and I found that the reviews are very accurate regarding the food. The food is fresh and seasoned very good. I had the Curried Goat and the Jerk Chicken Wings. Both dishes were excellent. The owner also stopped to talk with us about the food.I strongly recommend this restaurant when you're in Bangkok, Thailand.
I've been looking for a decent goat curry in Bangkok for years. There has been a lack of good Jamaican cuisine for as long as I can remember but this gap has been nicely filled. The mutton curry is authentic and tender, the jerk chicken is up there with the best I've tasted.Oh, and you are made to feel welcome on entry in a chilled environment with a variety of reggae music to compliment the experience. My pic does not give this dish the deserved justice due to a smashed lense, but this food hits the spot.
Andrew and his lovey wife have opened an awesome new restaurant in Sathorn. His Jamaican cuisine brings a great new flavor to the Bangkok food scene. I ordered the jerk wings and jerk pork - Chef Khun Pan delivered two fantastic dishes!!
