Quince

Das Quince war eine Empfehlung der Michelin-App, was ich so im Nachhinein, nicht nachvollziehen kann. Aber der Reihe nach. Ich hatte nicht reserviert und bekam den Platz direkt neben dem Eingang, was per se nicht schlecht ist, allerdings hatte der ‘Vorbereich’ zwei Klimaanlagen, was nach einer gewissen Zeit deutlich unangenehm wurde (ich musste mich schon verkrampft hinsetzten um nicht immer eine komplette Breitseite abzubekommen)! Bestellt hatte ich den bbq octopus, den meleon-crab-salad und den tiger-prawn-termidor. Als erstes kam der Octopus, hier war ich noch recht angetan. Super gegrillt mit lecker Thaistyle Soße, echt yummy. Dann ging es auch schon bergab mit dem Melonen-Crab salad. Der crab-anteil war verschwindend gering und das wenige was drin war wurde geschmacklich vom Ziegenkäse komplett überlagert. Es gab auch kein wirkliches Dressing was das ganze hätte vlt. noch retten können. Dann der Tiefpunkt, Tiger-Prawn Termidor, sowohl geschmacklich als auch Qualitativ ein Totalausfall (mal als Vergleich deren Bild aus Instagram hier mit beigefügt). Wenn man dann noch sieht das hierfür 1000 baht aufgerufen werden, dann geht man lieber auf den JoddFairs Nightmarket, Baan.Mama oder zu Ministery of Crab. Das war mit dem Annaconda so mit das schlechteste bis jetzt in BKK 😒

Had the best brunch at Quince. We ordered Turkish eggs, Lychee Kombucha and their Salted Caramel Latte. What surprised us was the hospitality of the staff, who went above and beyond to accommodate our requests. Special shoutout to Lek’ and Euro for being the best hosts. We even got complimentary gummy bears which just made our experience even better. 100% recommend it to everyone.

Generally every dish we ordered was delicious 😋10/10 highly recommend the cesar salad for vegetables lovers. The drinks, cocktails had slight sweetness to them perfect for a friend’s night out. However the price was a little over the top (very expensive for small portions).

I’ve been here a couple of times before and loved it, but this time was not impressed at all.1. Crab risotto became quite spicy for some reason. Seems completely unnecessary. It was a very nice dish before but making it spicy ruined it for me2. Beet salad - feels like there is way too much going on. Bitter radicchio and sour dressing overpowered all the other flavors. I’d personally remove radicchio and think it would make the salad better.3. Tiramisu is not tiramisu at all but something inspired by it - and I think they should be more clear about it on the menu. The cream felt like whipped cream (which immediately melted and disappeared when you touch it) instead of mascarpone. And having chocolate ice cream inside tiramisu just felt completely wrong.Having spend 1500 THB on this dinner I left completely disappointed.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this restaurant where I had an early diner (I showed up around 16:30 I think). Had the duck with mashed potatoes & truffle oil. It was delicious, including the duck deglazed sauce and its slightly gellified sauce medaillon. The duck was apparently cooked sous vide, thus perfect. The only thing I would have made differently would have been a quick roasting of the skin to get a crispy taste.To wash this down, I had two cocktails that were equally well balanced and delicious. After the barman kindly offered me a sampling of some of his art through three small gummies, I was tempted to get a Negroni, but this would have been slightly too much for me at this time.An attentive service by friendly staff, good food, good drinks... a very good time indeed. Recommended.

The dessert was alright, intense in flavours, and served in a hearty portion. I however considered the amount to be a bit too much for one person. Would be better to me if they could instead, make it half in size and lower the price.
Great place with fusion food from Head Chef Julian. I have gone to Quince in Saigon, and this is my first time in BKK. The quality of food and service is consistent!

(Visited Jan22) Delicious, flavourful and creative dishes, and drinks. Almost all the dishes I ordered were graced with some smokiness. Service is attentive and knowledgeable. Menu has no pictures. Ambience perfect for a date night.Salmon Nori Taco (10/10)Seaweed taco shell that is filled to the brim with aburi salmon cubes and delicious spiced aioli. Each cube is coated with the delicious smoky sesame aioli, which is also slightly citrusy. Loved the touch of avocado puree, and ikura. Originally, I was apprehensive about ordering this dish as it is described so simply on their menu. With reassured by service, and emphasis that this is their most popular item, I took the chance and was not disappointed.BBQ Baby Octopus (10/10)Absolutely loved the ajo blanco which was creamy, buttery and garlicky. The octopus is sufficiently large for a baby octopus, and covered with a slightly spicy, smokey bbq sauce. The tomatoes provide that savoury umami, and sweetness that brings out the salty octopus.BBQ Sloane's Pork Loin (9/10)Pork loin, with a crisp exterior, delicious fatty slices and sitting in a broth of smoky glory. It did get rather dry and monotonous towards the end. The brainsed lentils reminded me of baked beans. Pickled chillies did not make the dish spicy.Baked Cambert (8/10)Oozy insides and topped with smoked honeycomb crispy crumbs, and seated on a bed of pistachios, cashews, and walnuts. Well executed, but not special.Burnt orange and Milk ice-cream (10/10)Amazing milky icecream, garnished with smoked orange (they're extra smokey and oozing with smoke). Couldn't believe it paired so well!Cocktails ordered: First lady, Camera girl, Black Jack Bouvier

Summary

Das Quincy ist ein recht Hippies mediterranes Restaurant welches fu00fcr mich mehr schein als sein bietet. Mich wundert doch sehr, das der Guide Michelin das hier empfiehlt. Fast ein Totalausfall zu einem weit u00fcberteuertem Preis.
