This was my first time trying this family restaurant out and I have to say I am thoroughly impressed even though I took the wrong turn at first. But it is pretty close to Foodland. Only about half a mile or so I would say. You turn right and go down a small side street and there is a clear sign with the name Baan Thai Restaurant at the beginning of the Soi. I would say 5 stars out of 5 stars.I had the fried rice crab meat, morning glory, roti, watermelon shake, shrimp with noodles, and a chicken dish. I love how they make every bite mouth watering juicy delicious.I definitely will be coming back here with my family and friends.Truly a hidden gem amongst gems in Bangkok.

A hidden gem that’s only 30 seconds off the main road. I couldn’t see vegetarian options on the menu and I was told they could recreate pretty much anything with tofu. They even said if I didn’t eat egg then they could make it without. I chose sweet and sour tofu with rice. The portions were huge, the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. I sincerely appreciated the menu adaption and it was the best meal I’d had in Thailand. Highly recommend.

My best experience in Bangkok!!! Thank you so much!!! I took a green beef curry, tom yam and pad thai for two people. But, be careful!!! Because it was enough for a platoon!!! I can't move after that! It was delicious! And thanks a lot to the owners hospitality!!!

Just had dinner with my family. 3 generations consisting 7 members. Everyone found the food very good. But its also the attentive and friendly service and the ambience which made the difference. Also we ordered a lot of variety so the bill was higher than usual. I will recommend this quaint restaurant to all any time

Was welcomed with a sight of a humble home and a few family dogs. Environment was ok other than the fact that there are quite a few mosquitoes so that’s smth to be tolerant about if you’re sitting outdoors.Chanced upon this recommendation on Lemon8 but I think the food is not as good and value for money as it sounds. May be worth only if you come with more than 5 people. Hygiene was up to standards.

Food seemed to be fresh, given its taste, as well as the fact that dishes weren't served instantly (so nothing precooked) - a statement I can make since the place wasn't crowded.Service was top-notch. It strongly seemed to be the case that the owners, a family, is running the place. The most subjective point to judge for sure is location. For me as someone coming from a calm Italian town, Bangkok's center is overcrowded, while its suburbs get dirty and empty soon. The restaurant is about 10 walking minutes outside the "high roads", thus combining a bit the pro's and con's of both sides.

Ambience is great! Food is overrated. Grilled prawn is not as fresh. If you want to get away from city, this is a quiet place, otherwise food is not recommended.

Very enjoyable Thai restaurant. Not to spicy. Lots of options and friendly staff. Reasonable price also. The prawn were deep fried to perfection. It is set in an older home. Also some rooms have air conditioned.

Authentic Thai food and home feel. The massaman had great flavour but was more of a soup. We really enjoyed the yellow curry crab, and the mango sticky rice was amazing. I can’t stop thinking about it! 🥭🍚 Look at that presentation! You take your shoes off before going up the steps to enter the restaurant/home. There are some small rooms with A/C or you can eat outside.

My last meal in Bangkok and it was amazing. Am annoyed I only discovered it on my last day! Wouldve eaten here a lot if I knew this place existed.Setting is very special, an old wooden Bangkok house with polished floors.Service- you are treated like royalty.Food- fantastic! I had the Sea Bass red curry and the best pad thai I have ever had in my life (and that says a lot as I love Thai food!).Prices are reasonable!May the family who runs this special Bangkok restaurant thrive and do well.

We came to the restaurant a bit late almost their closing time, but we were still treated with superb service. Authentic Thai food, especially the deep fried sea bass in curry, it was amazingly delicious. I think we ordered a bit too much for 2 people. We didn’t know the portions were big, so we ordered 3 dishes and mango with sticky rice. Price was reasonable. Service was excellent. They treat you like family, I never seen any restaurant provide such great customer service. If you’re dining outside at night time, make sure you wear long sleeve or mosquito repeller tho. If not, they have 😊. Thanks for the great dining experience in Thailand. Will come back and try other dishes when we are in thailand again

WE LOVED IT! Defintely we’ll be back.I loved the house feel, home cooking restaurant.Food is amazing, it taste better than actual big restaurants. Food and cooking is authentic Thai! The ambiance is amazing!!! Really classic traditional Thai houseOnly thing that needs improvement is that there is a lot of mosquitoes, they need to have an anti mosquito lights or smell.

Dass Baan ist ein sehr gutes authentisches Thaifood Restaurant, wo sogar noch das Gebu00e4ude authentisch ist. Sehr guter Service bei der Bestellung.
